Support ENJOY the Red this Giving Hearts Day

The following opportunities to enjoy the Red River are only possible through the generous support of our donors and the work of our project partners. Now through February 13th, you can support River Keepers opportunities to enjoy the Red and know that you are making a direct impact in your community.

Race the Red canoe and kayak races: River Keepers longest running event! It’s all about having fun and meeting other paddlers. Learn more here.

“My favorite part, definitely starting the race – looks so cool, so nice, so fun…it really amazes me how nice the river looks around us.” – Race the Red participant.

River Paddling Excursions and Canoe & Kayak Rentals at Hjemkomst Landing:  The excursions and rentals give paddlers opportunities to paddle the Red River even if they don’t own their own canoe or kayak. Learn more here.

Youth and adult fishing clinics: The Red River offers excellent fishing opportunities.  The youth fishing clinics provide hands on activities so young and old can learn how to cast, tie knots, identify fish, and more! Learn more here.

Ruler of the Red Fishing Tournament: Started in 2021 to promote fishing on the Red River for all ages in a friendly convenient virtual tournament format.

Interpretive hikes, snowshoe hikes:  We lead interpretive hikes in all seasons along the River corridor.

Winter Solstice Walk: An evening luminary walk started four years ago to get people outside utilizing riverfront parks in the winter. Learn more here.

“I just wanted to thank you and the rest of River Keepers for organizing the Winter Solstice Walk at Lindenwood. Was a perfect night for a walk and we probably wouldn’t have got out tonight if it wasn’t for you organizing it. You truly have the best job in the world! Thanks for all you do and we look forward to future River Keepers outings.” Winter Solstice Walk attendee

What does River Keepers Keep? The Red River.

Where do we keep it? In the public mind, eye and heart.
