River Water Temperature

Warm air doesn’t always mean warm water in our rivers or lakes. Fifty five degree water may not sound very cold, but it can be deadly. Tips to #EnjoytheRed:

💧Consider staying off/out of water until water is warmer.

💧Be sure to check the weather and water temperature before you go out on the water. Red River water temperatures can be found here: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?05054000

💧Always wear a life jacket in and around the water.

💧Always dress for water temperature, not for air temperature.

Always wear your life vest and consider cold water protection gear...cold water can kill. kill NOAA OE weather. gov'
