The Partnership Award recognizes agencies that have partnered together to promote the Red River and the goals of River Keepers.They received this award for their work on furthering our goal to increase public awareness of the Red River, its uses, and water related issues by engaging in educational activities. They have thoughtfully and professionally led us through many steps over the last couple of years to develop a master plan for a potential education center which would strengthen the community’s direct connection to our watershed while advocating for, and providing inspiration for, the responsible use of our river and land. It would better allow River Keepers to provide opportunities for the community to LEARN about, help SUSTAIN, and safely ENJOY the Red River. They have been leading the way by organizing numerous community conversations, researching other centers, creating narrative for various target markets, analyzing potential sites, exploring program options, considering building needs and the list goes on. We sincerely appreciate their commitment and passion to this project which could provide life long, purposeful learning experiences in a beautiful natural setting for the whole community.
