Ruler of the Red Fishing Tournament Postponed to July 8-17

A fun virtual fishing tournament on the Red River using the FishDonkey app.

Entry Fee: Only $20/individual (plus a small processing fee)

Payout and Categories:
* Largest (by length) Catfish – $250
* Largest (by length) Walleye – $150
* Wild Card – a winner is randomly selected from the catfish entries – $50
* Wild Card – a winner is randomly selected from the walleye entries – $50

Canoe & Kayak Rentals at Hjemkomst Landing

Once river levels go down through September 10 we will be open:
* Tuesdays 3:00-8:00 p.m.
* Thursdays 5:00-8:00 p.m.
* Saturdays 11:00a.m.-6:00 p.m.
* Sundays 12:00-6:00 p.m.

Location:  Hjemkomst Landing, 202 1st Avenue North in Moorhead

Rentals: Single kayaks, tandem kayaks and canoes are available on a first come first serve basis.

Cost: $10/hour/vessel

River Paddling Excursions

A leisurely paced group paddle with local experts sharing their knowledge of the Red River. All skill levels are welcome! Each excursion begins at 6:00 p.m. with basics of canoeing, kayaking and safety. Please arrive by 5:30 p.m. 

Pre-registration is required. $10 per person if you are providing your own vessel, $15 per person if needing canoe or kayak rental (rentals available on a first come, first serve basis), ages 5 and under free.  Register through Moorhead Parks and Recreation  Register at moorheadparks.com or call 218.299.5340.

History of the Red River: June 22
Ever wonder what Moorhead was like “growing up”? Join the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County on a riveting history lesson of downtown Moorhead.

Race the Red Postponed to July 11

Three Flag Races: Choose your distance, 1.5, 3.5, or 6 miles. Participants will paddle up river to a designated turnaround point, grab a prize, and return down river to the finish.

The Course: All races begin and end at the south boat ramp at Dike East (100 2nd Street South in Fargo). The first half of each race is upstream. There are awards for 1st place in each category for each distance.

Best Decorated: Sign up to be in the Best Decorated contest. Each vessel will have their photo taken and posted on River Keepers Facebook and Instagram. Please arrive early to have the photo taken.  All decorations must be securely fastened. If anything comes off, you must collect it immediately.
