2023 Winter Solstice Walk

The Winter Solstice Walk will bring some light and cheer to the longest night of the year (December 21). The M.B. Johnson Park interpretive trail will be lit at 5:30 p.m. and glow until 8 p.m. Pre-registration is not required.

Nexus PATH will be at the small shelter providing hot chocolate while supplies last. Bring your favorite mug!

If you want to enjoy the interpretive signs along the trail, bring a flashlight. If you’re a geocacher, there is an Adventure Lab associated with the signs so you can get 10 quick finds!

This is a special way to experience the beauty of a riverfront park in December.
* Bring the family.
* Dress for the weather.
* Wear comfortable walking shoes.
* Walking sticks are good for winter walking but not necessary.
* Welcome to bring festive lighted necklaces and/or hats!

It looks like it’s going to be a nice evening so if the parking is full, go look at Christmas lights and come back.

A special thank you to the support from Moorhead Parks and Recreation!
