The following learning opportunities are only possible through the generous support of our donors and the help of our partners. Now through February 13th, you can support River Keepers learning opportunities and know that you are making a direct impact in your community.

Resilient Yard Workshop Series: Make Your Own Rain Barrel, Make and Paint Your Own Rain Barrel, Make Your Own Compost Tumbler: These hands-on workshops provide our community with resources to implement river friendly practices in their backyards to sustain the Red River. We’ve worked with over 600 workshop participants since 2007 who brought home rain barrels and compost tumblers that offer numerous environmental benefits like improving water quality, soil structure and much more! Learn more here.

Red River Water Festival: Since 1999, over 38,500 3rd and 4th grade students have participated in this field trip to learn all about water through fun hands-on activities that support their curriculum and make good stewards of our watershed. This is our largest event.

“Dear River Keepers, Thank you for all your time, energy, prep, creativity, and passion! Thank you for being willing to share all these things, along with your knowledge, with us during the Red River Water Festival! We had a great time participating with you! It was a wonderful experience and opportunity to be able to learn and apply what we were learning in a new context and in outdoor classrooms. We appreciate you and all you are doing for our community! Thank you again, for having us! Keep up the great work!” – A participating teacher.
