Our new sign-up form is live for the Red River Water Festival! Sign up to volunteer at one of our biggest events of the year. Over 2,000 3rd and 4th graders will visit us throughout the event to learn all about water from our amazing presenters. We have a lot of shifts to fill to make this fun, interactive and educational field trip for students a success.
Dates: September 18-22, 25-26 (shifts vary)
Location: Hjemkomst Center, Moorhead
Haul supplies: Use your vehicle to help staff haul supplies from our storage unit at Island Park in Fargo to the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead
Set up outdoor canopies before the event
Lead an activity
Activity Assistants: Assist our presenters with interactive fun activities to teach 4th graders about the importance of water (possible topics include water properties, wetlands, fish, conservation, quality, history, etc.)
Timers: Give signals to our presenters to let them know it is time to rotate classrooms.
On-call volunteers: Willing to fill in when the unexpected happens and we have last minute openings? Sign up to be on call for our activity assistant and timer positions.
Raise and lower canopies: Help our staff raise and lower canopies during the water festival to prevent overnight wind damage.
Take down: Outdoor canopies and other supplies
If you are a teacher, group leader, or have a lot of employees interested in signing up, we can schedule a time for our staff to come in and present about River Keepers, the water festival, and get your group signed up for shifts in person!
