April Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer with us in April! Help with these projects (some are weather dependent). Mark interest at riverkeepers.org/volunteer or by using the links below:

*Activity Assistant: Lead an activity at our booth at Party for the Planet on April 25, from 10:45 – noon or 2-4pm or be an Ambassador at the MSUM Earth Day Celebration on April 24 from 9:30 – Noon: https://www.signupgenius.com/…/8050F4FADA929A3F94…

*T-shirt to Tote Project: Turn T-shirts into totes to reduce plastic bag waste going to the Red River! Tasks include cutting, tying, ironing, or sewing.

*Workshop Prep Day: Consider yourself handy? Help us build compost tumblers on April 21 from 2-4:30pm ! Learn more by contacting Kim at Kimberly@riverkeepers.org.

*Red River Bank Cleanups: Reaches of the Red River can be either cleaned on a one-time basis or adopted long term. Great for all ages! Moorhead Parks has some fun incentives for Earth Week! Project Partners: River Keepers, Fargo Park District and Moorhead Parks and Recreation

*Drain Cleanups: Adult volunteers can clean up stretches of drainage ditches in Fargo and Moorhead. This will require getting close to the water in the ditch and using pickers to grab the trash. Project partners: River Keepers, Fargo Park District, and Southeast Cass Water Resource District

*Storm Drain Marking Program: We need volunteers to mark drains with markers that say, “No Dumping, Drains to River” and give door hangers to nearby residents to reduce storm water pollution in Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo. Sponsored by City of West Fargo, Fargo, and Moorhead.

*More volunteer opportunities are open for May, June, and July including our Monthly Volunteers Series, Race the Red, and youth fishing clinics. See all the openings here (Use the tabs on the top of the screen to switch events): https://www.signupgenius.com/…/8050F4FADA929A3F94..
